International Motorcycle fair - Mazatlan Mexico

Some amazing bikes from the 12th International Motorcycle Week in Mazatlan, Mexico.

A nicely designed chopper here.

Note the big front wheel and the inverted silencor.

The smooth upper profile and the tear-drop shaped tank is a real eye-catcher.

This one is the other way round.

A small wheel in the front and a big-fat rear wheel.

The profile is straight at the rear and then moves up suddenly for the tank.

I liked the red hot colours. Somehow, I didn't like its straight and simple silencer and the thin chassis.

This one has a painted chassis. Really dramatic colours. A shade of blue is always welcome. To me it brings a feeling of "coolness".

Note the profile. The seat is too low and a never ending tank for the gasoline. The handlebar adds to the curves and the dramatic look.

Long front fork is chrome plated and looks strong.

Inspired by the good old Harleys, this one from the house of "Chrome and Flames has an retro design.

Pretty neatly made for sure.

The huge V-twin engine catches the attention.

This is an extreme modification of an old Harley. The bike looks like it has come out from some Devil's factory.

This guy was staying in our hotel. He used to offer a joy ride to some others too.

Although, it might remind some of you of the Indian/Pakistani three-wheelers of the "moto-taxi" in the Latin America, the bike had still a lot than those traffic stoppers.

The rider did some wheelies with it. Even with the passengers!

Look at the skull on the rear seat rest.

As the bike goes by, the skull is the only other thing that the passer by would remember about the bike. It seems to say, "We'll meet again, if you're not dead by then!"

Here, I think the designer was not sure whether he wanted to make it red or black or keep it shining chrome.

The engine looks very appealing with the twin silencors.

This is a typical "fat boy" design.

Do you enjoy?

We were at a pub today.
We are now three of us in Monterrey, three Indians living in the same building.
And afterall, where else do you expect us to be on a Saturday evening!

So, as usually would happen, after a couple of rounds of beer, we, true Indians were again philosophical. It was a little early though this time. May be the black Indio was working faster.

"Mexicans are happy go lucky", someone said. "They won't even have food to eat the next day, but they would enjoy today, buy something exorbitantly expensive, party again, go on a vacation, do anything they need to enjoy."
"I was at the 'El Grito' ceremony, the independence day celebration at the Macro Plaza yesterday, and I saw about 20,000 people there.. happy and gay, partying, as there was no tomorrow", I added.
"There were people, and lots and lots of them, with there faces painted with the Red, Green and White stirpes of the national tri-colour, with flags of all sizes in their hands. Baloons, toys. They were wearing the typical dresses, big round Somreros (round hats), eating the typical Mexican food, Tamales, Corn, candies and some more of that.
At the Grito (literally, means a Scream) by the Governor of the state, "VIVA MEXICO", everyone shouted back. Just after that, there were fire-crackers all around in the sky. Green, Red and yellow stars, sound and light filled the of clear sky over the acres of Macro Plaza.
This was actually the evening on 15th September. A day before the Independence Day.
One of their presidents had his birthday on 15th and he changed the date of celebrations to a day prior to the actual Independence day. The logic is that they can party and sleep the next day. Strange, it may sound. But then, that's the way Mexicans are.
They love to party.
They love to enjoy their lives. And they do it pretty well."

We Indians never celebrate anything that way. We are somehow always worried about tomorrow.
Celebrations is the expression of happiness, when you are together and you share that happiness with all. But somehow, we are always worried about the next day. The next week, they next month or the year.
Somehow, our career, our family bondings always restrain us. We feel we can't really be irresponbile to be extravagant or to enjoy ourselves to that extent.
"You should enjoy but within the limit", one of my teachers told us at a college party.
May be this is just our mentality, may be just a cultural issue.

We kept enjoying the beer. We kept enjoying the big screens showing the sports and Americas Funniest Videos.
After an hour or two, someone said, "What about the food yaar?"
So we decided to come back home and prepare something.

A guy from the office stopped to greet us on the way. "Hey! How are you?", he greeted.
"Are you finished?" He was with his girl-friend. He was moving in.
The pub was starting to get warmer, louder.
People were enjoying.
It was just 9:30 pm.

We could have stayed there and have one more round of beer.
However, we decided to continue at our suites.
It would save money. 'Saving mentality' is a part of us.
It may not gel with the mood to celebrate.
But it brings some great satisfaction.

We then cooked some great Vegetable Pulav and beans curry. It was delicious!!
Home made food, cooked with hands brings another great satisfaction.
It is safe, tasty, nutritious, faster...we have plenty of reasons.
May be the secret lies in the Indian Spices.
May be it's the way we enjoy.

Blog? why?

It feels strange to start a blog.
It feels to me that I am talking to an invisible someone.
More so because I do not know if it is going to be a dialogue or a monologue.
If I am the only one going to do the talking, well, will the "audience" applause?
It really feels strange.

Why I have to start a blog when I have so many people to speak to? or to write an email?
They do listen to me. And they can interact too.

Why do I need a blog when almost everybody has one?
Am I going to be counted as a 'me-too'?
Or do I need a blog just because everyone has it?

May be I will get the answers sometime later, somehow...

Wish you everything that you ever wanted!
